Canon EOS 1D Mark IV Review

The Canon EOS 1D Mark IV offers higher resolution and an extended range of sensitivity settings as well as a significantly higher-resolution LCD monitor and new 45-point area AF system. Resolution has been increased to 16.1 megapixels (effective) and the 27.9 x 18.6 mm APS-H sized CMOS sensor has a focal length crop factor of 1.3x and a 3:2 aspect ratio.

“Impressive print quality; good color, very sharp, detailed prints up to 20×30 inches…ISO 51,200 shows more chroma noise and grain, but it’s not a terrible appearance at 8×12. Still, it’s more up to the standard we look for printed at 5×7 inches. RAW is obviously where you’d want to start for optimum quality from ISO 3,200 up, but the potential is huge. Overall it’s another impressive performance from a Canon pro camera.“
