The Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 DC Canon AF is a super wide-angle zoom lens. The Sigma 10-20mm is designed exclusively for Canon digital SLR cameras.

The Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 DC Canon AF is an excellent investment for owners of DSLRs with APS-C format sensors.

SLD glass elements effectively compensate color aberration. Aspherical lenses provide maximum correction for distortion and various aberrations; high image quality is displayed throughout the entire zoom range. The HSM equipped models makes fast AF speeds and quiet shooting a reality, and it is also capable of full-time manual focus. The Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 DC Canon AF has a minimum focusing distance of 9.4″ (24cm) at all focal lengths. It is also equipped with an integral Petal-type hood to block out extraneous light.

digitalslrphoto.com reviews the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM and writes:
“Using such a wide angle-of-view presents a whole host of fresh creative possibilities and since buying this lens, I rarely use any other focal range to shoot landscape images.
As you would expect from one of Sigma’s EX range, the lens is solid, well constructed and a joy to handle. It may have a relatively slow maximum aperture of f/4-5.6 – but scenic photographers will normally employ an f/stop of f/8 or smaller anyway.
Considering its ultra-wide focal range, it is remarkably compact and it is designed with a practical filter size. Compared to the Nikkor 12-24mm f/4 and Canon’s 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5, it represents a healthy saving of over £200, yet it isn’t a compromise on quality.
If you use an APS-C-type DSLR (most of us do) and presently in the market for an ultra wide-angle lens, then this may well be the optic that you are looking for. It comes highly recommended.”

Photodo reviews the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM and writes:
“With the wide field of view that this lens gives the digital SLR owners that require panoramic style angles, this lens is an answer to their prayers. The performance is excellent and the size and weight is little more than a standard zoom. Aimed at an area where there are no contenders stepping down from the 35mm arena and fulfilling a definite need, Sigma should be onto a winner here.”

What Digital Camera reviews the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM and writes:
“Some lack of critical sharpness, particularly in the corners, combined with poor control of chromatic aberration has let down what could be a great optic for the price.”

slrlensreview.com reviews the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM and writes:
“Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM is a great value for your money. The lens is one of the widest zoom lenses for APS-C dSLRs available on the market. Its build quality matches (and some might even claim exceeds) that of a Canon’s L lens. Image quality rivals other ultra wide zooms on the market. Distortion that plagues the lens across entire focal length is something to be aware of, but considering that I have yet to see an ultra wide zoom that does not show any distortion, I would not stress too much about it. Given its aggressive price, Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM should remain at the top of your shopping list. Assuming you’re OK investing in an APS-C type lens that is.”

The Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 DC Canon AF lens allows enjoyment of super wide-angle photography and it is a very powerful tool for indoor shooting and landscape photography with APS-C size image sensors of digital SLR cameras. Wide angle of view 102.4-63.8 degrees (for Sigma mount) offers the photographer greater freedom of expression. The new multi layer lens coating and lens design reduce flare and ghost, which is a common problem with digital cameras and also creates an optimum color balance through the entire zoom range. Three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements are employed for effective compensation of color aberration, which is a common problem with super-wide angle lenses. One piece of glass mold and two hybrid aspherical lenses, offer excellent correction for distortion, as well as all types of aberration.

This Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 DC Canon AF lens incorporates an internal focusing system, which eliminates front lens rotation allowing the use of a Petal-type Hood and also minimize fluctuation of aberration caused by focusing system. The HSM equipped models ensure a silent, high-speed AF function as well as full-time manual focusing capability. This Sigma 10-20mm lens has a minimum focusing distance of 9.4″ (24cm) throughout the entire zoom range. The Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 DC Canon AF is awarded TIPA best consumer lens in Europe 2006. with a versatile range of wide-angle focal lengths, a good optical performance and a budget price, the Sigma 10-20mm is an excellent investment for owners of DSLRs with APS-C format sensors. Its sharpness remains constant throughout the zoom range, and its compact size makes it an ideal companion for shooting travel, landscapes or architectural photography.

The Sigma 180mm F3.5 EX DG features a Focus Limiter Switch, which provides a more efficient and positive AF function. The Sigma 180mm Lens provides life-size reproduction and it is optimized for digital cameras.

Taking picture of small animals and insects can be difficult, because they often run or fly away, or can be dangerous or become aggressive if you approach them. Therefore it is advantageous to have a greater working distance between the camera and such subjects. Longer focal length lens can provide this greater distance, but most long lens do not focus close enough to provide a large image of small subjects. The tele-macro type lens solves this problem by producing a large, high quality image, up to life-size, while maintaining a long working distance. This can enable you to capture on film the world of photomicrography, without disturbing the subjects. The 180mm F3.5 APO MACRO lens has a very narrow field of view, and can allow very narrow depth-of-field for selective focus and less distracting backgrounds. This lens is most desirable for photographers who are serious about producing high quality images both of macro subjects at life-size reproduction, as well as normal telephotography.

Floating Inner Focusing System
The Floating Inner Focus System of the APO MACRO 180mm F3.5 EX HSM provides high quality optical performance and superior handling and stability. This system moves two lens groups within the lens, so the lens’ physical length remains unchanged. This technique also maintains good correction for Spherical Aberration and Astigmatism, and provides extremely high optical performance from infinity to 1:1 Macro.

Ephotozine reviews the Sigma 180mm f/3.5 EX DG HSM and writes:
“With the price of this lens being half that of the Marque competition and the performance being better in some areas and almost as good in others, we can do little else but to recommend this optic as an excellent buy. If you are in the market for a long Macro lens, you would do well to give this one some serious consideration.”

Photozone reviews the Sigma 180mm f/3.5 EX DG HSM and writes:
“The Sigma AF 180mm f/3.5 EX HSM APO macro is a very capable macro lens with very high resolution figures, marginal vignetting and non-existing distortions. Unfortunately CAs are a on the high side which is unusual for a tele fix-focal lens – this is a correctable issue though (via PS ACR, RawShooter, etc.). The build quality is very high and thanks to HSM the AF operates pretty fast and virtually silent. Compared to similar genuine brand lenses the AF 180mm f/3.5 EX APO macro is an absolute bargain at less than half the costs. However, all-in-all the Sigma AF 150mm f/2.8 EX HSM APO macro DG was a little more convincing.”

Photozone reviews the Sigma 180mm f/3.5 EX DG HSM and writes:
“Sigma APO Macro 180mm f/3.5 EX DG HSM is a very strong contender among telephoto macro lenses. The lens combines very strong image performance on both full frame and APS-C cameras, excellent build quality, low level of distortion and good color handling, all that at very aggressive price. There does not seem to be any glaring weaknesses with the lens and that by itself is a major achievement. So if you are in the market for a telephoto macro, then Sigma’s 180mm macro lens should most certainly remain at the top of your list.”

Full-time Manual Focus with HSM
Macro photography requires precise focus adjustment. The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) feature is ideal for this purpose as it allows quick and precise manual focus, even in auto focus mode. Simply focus with HSM auto focus, then while partially depressing the shutter release, turn the manual focus ring until any desired focus adjustment is made. Then depress the shutter release fully to take the picture. It is not necessary to switch from AF to MF. When the shutter release is next depressed, the AF function will resume. Of course the AF function can be disabled altogether, and only MF used, if desired.

It is possible to use 1.4x or 2x Sigma Apo Tele Converters
Macro photography can be further enhanced by the 1.4x APO EX tele-converter, which allows the photographer to use the new SIGMA APO 180mm F3.5 MACRO lens as a 252mm F5 lens while maintaining auto focus function from infinity to 1.2m(47.2 in.) with Canon, Nikon and Sigma cameras. At distances closer than 1.2m (47.2 in.) the lens automatically switches to MF mode. When this lens and the 1.4x EX tele-converter are used with Minolta or Pentax cameras the lens must be focused manually. When used with the 2x EX tele-converter, the 180mm F3.5 lens becomes a 360mm F7 lens with manual focus function only, regardless of camera mount.

Use of SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass
Image quality depends in part on color Aberration, which occurs due to differences in the wavelength (color) of light, causing the different colors to focus at different planes. SLD glass in the front optical group helps compensate for this phenomenon, and enables the lens to deliver images of high optical quality, having outstanding crispness and sharpness.

Inner Focus
Inner focusing improves handling and focus operation from infinity to close-up, by keeping the lens’ length constant. It also allows easy handling and use of circular polarizing filters, as the front barrel does not rotate during focusing. The large grippable manual focus control ring is ideal for manual focus photography. This lens also features a Focus Limiter Switch, to provide quicker AF function.

“As a step up from the run of the mill >300mm zooms this lens is certainly worth considering. The constant aperture and faster, quieter autofocusing make all the difference, ably helped by a constant length and internal focus mechanism to make handling a joy. Four SLD glass elements in the construction help to make a nice improvement to the output quality too.”

slrlensreview.com reviews the Sigma APO 100-300mm f/4 EX DG HSM Lens and writes:
“All-in-all, Sigma 100-300mm f/4 EX DG HSM is an excellent lens. Combination of constant (moderately fast) aperture, excellent build and image quality and affordable (for a telephoto zoom lens) price allowed Sigma to create a very attractive package that should be quite popular among photographers. As mentioned earlier, for those of you using an APS-C camera, this can become a dedicated sports/wildlife lens (not so much for owners of full-frame bodies, since 300mm range is somewhat limiting and image quality here is lagging). And at 100mm, the lens can be a dedicated portrait lens that will give a run for image quality even to the best telephoto primes.”

Photozone reviews the Sigma APO 100-300mm f/4 EX DG HSM Lens and writes:
“The Sigma AF 100-300mm f/4 EX HSM DG is one of the most impressive Sigma lenses tested to date. It is able to deliver a near-flawless performance with great resolution figures, low vignetting, low distortions, low CAs and a very decent bokeh (albeit slightly underdeveloped regarding the moderate max. aperture unless your main subject is fairly close). It works reasonably well with the Sigma AF 1.4x DG EX converter but there’s no free lunch here for obvious reasons. The Sigma is quite a monster of a lens but the combination of speed and focal length range simply takes its toll regarding size and weight requirements. The build quality is exceptionally high and combined with the snappy AF it was a joy to use the lens in the field.”

Inner focusing and inner zooming systems
An inner focusing system eliminates front lens rotation, making the lens particularly suitable for using the petal-type lens hood supplied and circular polarizing filters. Since focusing and zooming do not change its overall length, ease of handling and operation is assured. A rotating tripod mount can be conveniently detached if required.

APO Tele-Converter EX (optional)
High-speed focusing is possible when this lens is used with dedicated APO EX tele-converters (1.4x and 2x). With the optional APO tele-converter 1.4x EX, it works as AF zoom lens from 140mm to 420mm F5.6. With APO tele-converter 2.0x EX, it works as a manual focus zoom lens from 200mm to 600mm F8.

This large aperture, standard zoom lens contains state-of-the-art enhancements, including the company’s own Optical Stabilization (OS), anti-shake technology that offers the use of shutter speeds approximately four stops slower than would otherwise be possible. Once again, only Sigma has made it possible for Pentax and Sony shooters to utilize an anti-shake system in either the lens or the camera body.

Digital camera world sells the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM Lens Super cheap cameras sell the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM Lens JR camera house sales the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM Lens BK camera house sales the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM Lens Gerry Gibbs camerahouse sell the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM Lens Mandurah camera house sell the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM Lens

This lens’ predecessor, the 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC Macro HSM, was deemed a “Best Buy” recommendation for photographers wishing to purchase a standard zoom lens as part of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art’s (CAPA) “Best Lens of the Year” awards.

“Aside from the OS technology, which is key when shooting with mid-range and high-end class DSLRs, this lens stands apart from the crowd because of its impressive zoom range,” said Mark Amir-Hamzeh, general manager of Sigma Corporation of America. “It has a 4x zoom range that is equivalent to 24-105mm lenses in full-frame formats. That, coupled with the OS technology and a macro function, makes it the ultimate standard lens for serious photographers who want top-notch image quality and functionality at an affordable price.”

With a large aperture of F2.8 on the wide end and F4 at the tele end, as well as a macro function with a minimum focusing distance of 8.7 inches and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7, this lens is ideal for a wide range of photography. The lens’ Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) also ensures a quiet and high speed auto focus, while its rounded, seven-blade diaphragm creates an attractive blur to the out-of-focus areas to provide the optimal Bokeh effect. The inner focusing system eliminates front lens rotation, making the lens particularly suitable for using the supplied petal-type lens hood and circular polarizing filters.

Three aspherical lenses and one Extraordinary Low Dispersion (ELD) glass element provide excellent correction for all types of aberrations when shooting with this lens. Additionally, the Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting to produce high-contrast images.
