The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 is a 12.1-megapixel Micro Four Thirds camera with an articulated touchscreen that provides touch-based functions like Touch AF/AE and Touch Shutter. Armed with a newly developed Venus Engine HD II processor, the Panasonic G2 shoots AVCHD Lite movies at a resolution of 1280×780 pixels, and has a port for an optional stereo microphone.

The image resolution of the Panasonic Lumix G2 is unchanged, which signals that the majority of the DSLR and Micro Four Thirds manufacturers have found 12 Megapixels to be an optimal standard resolution. It remains strange that those same manufacturers keep painstakingly introducing compact cameras to their assortment with resolutions far above 12 Megapixels. There is obviously something which benefits the consumer when the message projected says that the Megapixel race for the system camera segment is unnecessary and redundant. The manufacturer Panasonic, in any case, is doing this well. The only thing that is actually emphasized is that in the case of Micro Four Thirds, and also in other system cameras, that an ideal combination has been found: the quality of a DSLR camera with the ease of a compact camera.

Cnet previews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 and writes:
“The G2 is almost identical to the G1 in terms of its overall body shape and incorporates a 3-inch tilting, flip-out LCD, with the big difference being the tactile interface — it’s now a touchscreen. Controls have been moved around, such as the Q.Menu (Quick Menu) button shifting from the top of the camera to the rear. In its place are two additional buttons, one for intelligent Auto control and a video record button.”

Trusted Reviews previews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 and writes:
“As for the G2, it has the same 100 per cent FOV, 0.7x magnification, 1.44 million dot viewfinder; the same articulated 3in 460k dot LCD screen; and the same image sensor as the G1 and GF1. However, it adds touchscreen abilities to the LCD and can also shoot video at up to 720p resolution at 50fps (60fps for the NTSC version). Furthermore, it has a built in mono microphone and input for a stereo microphone, so it’s a very capable video shooter.”

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 is not very small in comparison with the small-format DSLR cameras that the competition offers. But that doesn’t seem to be too important. At least, not for the consumer that is just looking for quality, and has outgrown its compact camera. The jump to a DSLR is self-evident, as quality is a priority over format. The Panasonic Lumix G2 is especially designated for such a step.

The camera looks friendly, and has a more basic look&feel than, for example, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1. A Panasonic GF1 has a much more advanced appearance and is more suitable for the experienced (DSLR) photographer in terms of the camera design and look&feel, with which it wants to distinguish itself. It is in terms of the Panasonic DMC-G2’s design that I have personally begun to understand more. It is not so much a design that emphasizes the maximization of the small scale of the camera, such as the GF1, but rather it is directed at the masses.

Panasonic unveils another new interchangeable lens camera from Lumix G Micro System – the DMC-G10 that packs a host of advanced digital functions operated in a simple way in the world’s lightest body.

One of the specifications that distinguish the Panasonic DMC-G10 from the DMC-G2 is the file format in which video is saved, namely Motion JPEG instead of the G2’s AVCHD Lite. The HD video clips are saved in a 1280×720 pixels resolution with the possibility of recording in QVGA, VGA and WVGA resolution. The recording of a video clip is kept very simple. The separate video recording button may be missing, but functions such as iA mode (Intelligent Auto) are present, such as the effective optical stabilizer (O.I.S.) with which movement blur is prevented.

Face detection can be activated for photography as well as the recording of a video clip. Face detection has been developed extensively in the past few years and it works very well in practice. The accuracy with which detection works is remarkable. Photography with the use of face detection has such advantages that not only allow for the face to be in focus, but also the lighting, contrast and skin color are calculated optimally and recorded. Despite the trademark beginner’s level model, the Panasonic Lumix G10 has extensive possibilities, but the emphasis is especially on the simplicity and completely automated programs.

The 12 Megapixels resolution is in accordance with the average resolution that system cameras have that we know. This is an excellent resolution; it is more than enough for the type of photography that you could achieve with the Panasonic Lumix DMC G10. More and more often, manufacturers dare to claim that a resolution of about 12 megapixels is optimal for DSLR and system cameras such as the Panasonic Lumix G10. Strangely enough, these same manufacturers make these statements seem invalid for their compact camera assortment. It seems to be a bit of a double standard. The Panasonic DMC-G10’s Live MOS sensor is low-energy and delivers a level of performance comparable to the standard CCD sensor.

This third generation of the Olympus PEN series combines powerful features in an easy-to-use package that will make capturing your life more fun. The new direct record button makes taking videos easier than ever and the new Live Guide functionality makes it simple to learn photography techniques without requiring the skills of a pro shooter. Recording HD movies with the Olympus PEN E-PL1 is simple, thanks to an easy-to-reach red “direct button” (red record button) on the back of the camera body. If you’re about to snap a photo and you realize a video would capture the spirit of the scene even better, simply press the record button and instantly you’re capturing videos! Easily toggle back and forth between capturing stills and videos by using your index finger to press the shutter button or your thumb to press the red record button. Having the ability to shoot still images and videos opens up a world of imaging possibilities.

The Olympus PEN E-PL1’s new Live Guide interface simplifies great photography and gets the results you desire at the touch of a button. Want more vivid or muted color in your shot? Want warmer or cooler color? Want a brighter or darker subject, or a sharper or softer background? Or maybe you want to capture the fast-moving action of your subject with a little artistic blur, or perhaps freeze the action? Simply select Live Guide and press the up and down arrows on the back of the camera to slide through numerous photographic effects. Make adjustments and watch the LCD as the effects are made live – before the image is captured! Don’t worry about learning technical things like f-stops, shutter speed and white balance; jump right in by composing, adjusting exposure and more before the shot is taken. Seeing the results before snapping the image ensures you are getting the shots you want, and it will change the way you photograph. Shooting Tips are also included with Live Guide, so you can leave the manual at home.

The Olympus PEN E-PL1 is the first camera in the Olympus PEN series with a built-in pop-up flash that makes it easy to illuminate low-light subjects, reduce red-eye and fill in dark areas. The camera is also compatible with a range of optional external flashes, including the Olympus FL-36R and FL-50R, which can be controlled wirelessly by the E-PL1 so you can dynamically control lighting as your photography skills grow. How do professional photographers capture the stunning images you see in the pages of glossy magazines and coffee-table books? Talent matters, of course, but you also need the right equipment. Rest assured that the Olympus E-PL1 has everything you need to produce vibrant, professional-quality images: a large image sensor, in-body Image Stabilization, Imager Autofocus, the proven Olympus Dust Reduction System and the TruePic V Image Processor.

Express yourself with in-camera creative features. Professional images are rarely unedited images. Video and still image pros use computer-editing software to render their images with effects that set their shots apart from the pack. Olympus appreciates that you may not have hours to spend retouching your images at the computer, so the Olympus PEN E-PL1 incorporates editing effects inside the camera to save you time. Whether you apply in-camera creative effects while shooting an image, or apply them later to images captured without the effects, all are inside the Olympus E-PL1, so you can achieve dramatic results on the go without a computer or editing software. The Olympus PEN E-PL1 has six in-camera Art Filters, including a new filter called Gentle Sepia. This filter gives your images and videos a soft, warm sepia cast similar to historical images from the early days of photography. The sepia tones are softer and the blacks are a true black, unlike traditional sepia images. The new filter joins Pop Art, Soft Focus, Pin Hole, Grainy Film and Diorama (the filter that makes everything look as small as the E-PL1).

The Pentax Optio W90 is a 12.1MP point and shoot camera that features a shockproof, waterproof and freezeproof body, along with a 2.7-incd LCD, 720p HD video capture and a Digital Microscope mode with LED lights providing lighting for up close subjects. The W90 will include a carabiner for attaching the camera to a belt or backpack for quick access.

Despite its compact dimensions, the Pentax Optio W90 features an optical 5X zoom lens covering focal lengths from 5mm to 25mm (equivalent in the 35mm format to approximately 28mm wide angle to 140mm telephoto). Thanks to this wide zoom range, the Pentax W90 can be used for a wide variety of subjects and scenes, from spectacular landscape, majestic architecture and group shots to tight snapshots from a distance. We also expect that the new Pentax Optio camera features the Intelligent Zoom function. Coupled with this function, the Pentax Optio W90 allows even tighter zooming in on the subject.

The Pentax W90 waterproof digital camera features the advanced Face Recognition, a great tool in casual shooting of people. This user-friendly function automatically detects multiple faces in the image field, then optimizes their focus and exposure settings. The Pentax W90 is also equipped with the Smile Capture mode, which automatically releases the shutter the moment the camera detects the subject’s smile, as well as the Blink Detection function, which warns the photographer when the subject’s eyes close at the time of shutter release.

The new Pentax X90 incorporates an image sensor shift Shake Reduction system to assure sharply focused, blur-free images even under demanding photographic conditions such as when shooting at full telephoto or when shooting a sunset or indoor scenes with very low light. By accurately detecting the amount of camera shake using a high-performance gyro sensor and shifting the CCD image sensor vertically and horizontally at high speed, the Pentax X90 offers an outstanding camera-shake compensation effect.

Digital camera world sells the Pentax X90 Super cheap cameras sell the Pentax X90 JR camera house sales the Pentax X90 BK camera house sales the Pentax X90 Gerry Gibbs camerahouse sell the Pentax X90 Mandurah camera house sell the Pentax X90

The Pentax X90 captures High Definition video clips in 1280×720 pixels at 30 frames per second. The Pentax X90 also features Movie SR mode, which effectively minimizes annoying camera shake during movie capture.

The Pentax X90 features a Face Detection function which is effective for capturing casual snapshots of people by optimizing the focusing and exposure of up to 32 faces in a single image in approximately 0.03 seconds.

The Pentax X90 megazoom camera also offers other user-friendly functions including Smile Capture which automatically releases the shutter the instant it detects the subject’s smile, and Blink Detection which warns the photographer when the subject’s eyes are closed at the moment of capture.

The new Sigma DP2s is a compact digital camera featuring a 14 megapixel FOVEON X3® direct image sensor.

The Sigma DP2s is the successor to the DP2 which was introduced to market in April 2009 and incorporates a new AF algorithm, a Power Save Mode and a new rear design. The new AF algorithm provides high speed auto focusing, ensuring convenient shooting. The Power Save Mode lowers the battery consumption. When this mode is enabled, a greater number of pictures can be taken with a single charge of the battery. The new rear design aids quick recognition of the controls. The addition of red markings has been used to enable easier operation of the cameras controls.

Digital camera world sells the Sigma DP2s Super cheap cameras sell the Sigma DP2s JR camera house sales the Sigma DP2s BK camera house sales the Sigma DP2s Gerry Gibbs camerahouse sell the Sigma DP2s Mandurah camera house sell the Sigma DP2s

The latest RAW image processing software, “SIGMA Photo Pro4.0″, is supplied with the DP2s and makes processing RAW images quick and easy. Version 4.0 has a superior image processing algorithm and improved compatibility with multi core CPU’s. It provides better image processing speed and improved image quality. Incorporation of a new noise reduction algorithm reduces Chroma and Luminance noise when processing X3F files taken at ISO400 or more. It is possible to adjust the level of reduction for noise just by moving the slider in the control pallet. With the Macintosh version, functions such as JPEG conversion and batch white balance settings, which were previously incorporated into Windows versions, have been added. In addition, the print function and the display speed for the review window and thumbnails have also been improved.
