Sony α (alpha) lenses with the Digital Technology (DT) designation are ideal for use on APS-C size DSLR cameras and are not recommended for use with full frame DSLR camera bodies (such as the DSLR-A900). Although DT lenses can be used with full frame cameras, they can only realize a maximum of 11MP image size (when using the DSLR-A900)., and are not guaranteed to provide accurate Auto Exposure performance.

“The zoom and manual focusing rings moved smoothly and autofocusing was reasonably fast. However, you can’t reach the focusing ring when the lens hood is reversed, which is occasionally inconvenient. The lens hood, when fitted, proved effective at reducing most flare.”

“At 11mm the critical border performance is just not there and high CAs and pronounced distortions don’t make things any better here…On the positive side vignetting is very well controlled and the build quality is fine. Nonetheless it is probably a better idea to have a deeper look at one of the Sigmas in this range.“
